SDTS provided humanitarian support to 2010-2011-2012 flood affected families as per following:
1. Distribution of 500 Hygiene Kits among IDPs in UC Shah Latif district Khairpur received from IOM.
2. Distribution of 20,000 washing Soap among IDPs in UC Shah Latif and Jamali district Khairpur & Qambar Shadadkot provided by WASH Cluster.

 Sewa literally meaning ‘service’ in Sindhi & Hindi languages, it is registered with Government of Pakistan under Trust Act-1882 as Trust Deed vide registration number 1096 dated 31 July, 2003.

1. Teachers’ Training

Teachers Training is important tool of the project. Sewa provides pre-employment course of one-week duration, employment course of 3-day duration and refresher courses annually.

Through Teachers Training, Teachers are taught:

  1. Lesson plan preparation and delivery of lectures.
  2. Maintenance of school registers and records.
  3. Use of teaching aids.
  4. Division of lessons per period per day to complete the syllabus.
  5. Collective Teachers Training ensures uniformity and standardization of teaching due to extensive demonstrations and practice.
  6. Multi-grade teaching training enables teachers to deal with class I-V simultaneously. Continue reading

Women-headed households

SDTS started early recovery of the flood-affected women through agricultural support, to 1000 women-headed households. The women-headed households get seed, fertilizer and agricultural implements (tool kits).

 Devastation on an Unimaginable Scale

Last summer, floods devastated 19 districts of Sindh Province, Pakistan. UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA) officials have said the disaster eclipsed the scale of the devastating 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan, and the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti put together.
