Enrollment Drive 2019 Ghotki

Enrollment of Out of School Children

Sewa Development Trust Sindh (SDTS) & British Council Pakistan (BC) in Collaboration with District Education Department, Government of Sindh district Ghotki, organized Enrollment walk/ Drive on 1st July 2019 from DEO-District Education Office Mirpur Mathello to Press Club Mirpur Mathello under ILMPOSSIBLE-Take a Child to School (TACS) Program. SDTS organized four events in total in Ghotki, first walk at district level on 1st July, 2019 held in MirpurMathelo where 130 people participated in the rally; the second enrollment walk was organized by SDTS partner MC Baghdadi on 8th July, 2019 from main Urdu school Ghotki to Pressclub Ghotki, where 92 people participated in the walk; third walk was organized by SDTS partner MC Mehran on 13th July, 2019 at Adilpur, where 88 people attended the walk; the fourth enrollment walk was organized by SDTS partner MC Goth Sudhar on 17th July, 2019 at Beriri, where 82 community members attended the walk. Total 392 community members including civil society members, Local organizations, NGOs, Journalists, Social Activists, District Education Officer (Primary), the Taluka Education Officers, teachers, volunteers, Muhallah Committee (MC) members and community stake holders participated in the walk to raise awareness on RIGHT TO EDUCATION. The Deputy Commissioner, Government of Sindh district Ghotki, Captain (Ret.) Mr. Khalid Saleem shared the Importance of education for development of the country, he said in Government schools all Books are free of cost available in each school; the district level Monitoring team are monitoring Schools regularly to ensure presence of school teachers. He requested community and parents to get enroll their children in Government schools. The Enrollment walk ended at Press club Ghotki where the speakers addressed the participants about importance of education and objective of the enrollment drive: Mr: Waqar Ahmed Abro, Coordinator TACS: shared about ILMPOSSIBLE enrollment process and role of ilmbassadors and MC to enroll out of school children, he appreciated support of District education department in the process of enrollment, and further said SDTS striving to enroll every child in Government schools and get free education. Mr: Ahmed Din Mirani, District Education Officer (Primary Schools): appreciated all teachers and school staff, who participated in the walk and continue their support for betterment of school conditions, he appreciated all Mohalla Committees and SDTS Team. the below slogans up-lauded. • Education is freedom • Illiteracy is Slavery • Teacher is Great • Student is Future..
